Unless you're well versed in the perverse, the name Sei Shoujo won't ring any bells. You might know of some of his creations though. He is the creator and character designer of some of the most popular, erotic visual novels including Bible Black, Discipline and Starless. So what's any of this got to do with the rock band King Crimson?
While researching Shoujo's then upcoming game Starless, I came across Starless and Bible Black on Wikipedia. It had nothing to do with what I was searching for ;) but it got me thinking, was Sei Shoujo giving his favourite band some strange kind of tribute?

The name Bible Black is very appropriate for the game. It's a story about a black book of magic. Starless is a bit more random though and what are the chances of two visual novels having their names derived from a single music album? Further investigation revealed that King Crimson have another album called Discipline which is also the fitting title of yet another Sei Shoujo game. Perhaps the most conclusive evidence comes from the game Discipline itself. The protagonist confronts his neighbour about the noise she's making and this happens:

King Crimson are a unique, pioneering, progressive rock group. I listened to some of their music after discovering them (through hentai, lol) and they are very impressive. Generally I don't enjoy this kind of stuff but I can appreciate why Sei Shoujo would want to pay tribute to them. And what a way to do it! I wonder if the have or will ever discover this. Maybe it's better that they don't.
